In 2008 I began to “come back to life” after a dangerous surgery on my brain stem in 2003. Although still recovering, I decided to celebrate my life by giving to others.
Tapping into my hobby of gardening, I propagated plants from seeds and cuttings–plants which thrive in both the arid and winter-freezing Mojave Desert, where I live.
Then, I signed up with my local water company to oversee a “booth” at its Annual Native Plant Sale. There, I give away hundreds of my fledgling plants once a year.
Needless to say, many people have been uplifted and made happier. March of 2019 will be the 10th year of my giveaway. It makes my heart sing to be able to do this! And I keep getting better and better.
